Dr. Douglas Hansen

I was raised on a farm just off the Mississippi River in western Illinois.а Although I spent most of my time on the athletic field, achieving NCAA Division I academic all-conference honors in cross country and track, I graduated from Bradley University in 1995 with degrees in Biochemistry, Chemistry, and Psychology.а I graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine in 1999 and immediately headed for Colorado, completing my residency at Saint Anthony Hospital and becoming a board certified Family Physician in 2002.

I have practiced in the community since 2002 in both Evergreen, Colorado and Littleton, Colorado.а Over the last 5 years in the the Littleton area, I have grown to know and care for a lot of the residents.

My professional interests include, of course, my full-time outpatient practice, along with inpatient medicine, cardiovascular medicine, health promotion, sports medicine (American College of Sports Medicine trained), occupational health (level II certified), minor surgery, teaching, medical acupuncture and complementary therapies, medical technology, and medical practice management (although I am rarely given a chance to use the knowledge, I have trained with the American Academy of Medical Management).а

аIn 2005 I was declared Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice.а Additionally, I am a nationally requested speaker focusing on heart disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and diabetes, and I am pending recognition for excellence in diabetes care from the National Committee on Quality Assurance.

аMy personal interests with my wife and two Labradors include enjoying all of ColoradoТs natural treasures.а I still love to run,аold habits die hard.а I also love to backpack, hike, mountain and road bike, and snowboard.
